ABOUT POPPER DOWN
Popper Down Charters is focused on having a fun day on the water with folks that are focused on having a fun day on the water. As the name implies, I am perfectly comfortable fishing with a popping cork and live shrimp but will also be happy to fish with artificial, top water, and other live bait. Redfish and trout are the main attraction, although flounder, black drum, spanish mackerel and mangrove snapper make appearances on a regular basis. The emphasis is on the experience, some days we are catching and some days we are fishing so we don't take ourselves too serious. We watch the dolphin, have some laughs and ham it up for the GoPro. If this sounds like a worthwhile way to spend the day, give me a shout.

A DAY ON THE WATER WITH CAPTAIN BRETT
Our morning generally gets started between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., and concludes around 1:00 p.m.. However, depending on the day and the diligence of the crew, we may stay a little longer. By 2 or 3, bites are harder to find and Mr. Sun has reached full intensity.
When you arrive, you will find the Mosca ready to roll with ice, water, bait, fishing gear (primarily spinning reels w/ popping corks), life jackets, and even spare polarized sunglasses. All you need to bring is a fishing license, sun protection, snacks, and drinks (no glass please).
At the tail end of our experience, I will clean your fish and sort into zip lock bags. If you will be traveling a long distance, I will vacuum seal your filets for the trip. We will take pictures and reflect on the day and embellish stories. If you will be staying in the area for the evening, there are at least two restaurants that will cook your catch for you. My Father n Law used to say “it just doesn’t get any fresher than this, unless you cooked it on the boat”. Finally, within the next 48 hours, you will receive an edited GoPro “replay of the day” to help keep your stories straight.
